La Casa-The Hideaway Airbnb Accommodation in Hanoi Review

La Casa
La Casa

Quick introduction, location & transportation

La Casa, a stylish Airbnb studio situated on Nam Ngu Street, next to Hanoi’s main railway station. Easy to find. From here you can easily have a walk to many major destinations, including Hoan Kiem Lake, The Old Quarter, Dong Xuan Market, St. Joseph Cathedral, for example. It is just super convenient getting around. La Casa is a quite and private place knowing how central its location is. Although there is some little noise on the streets at night, you can be rest assured that you can have great sleep here.

The studio is also close to all necessary grocery stores, and ATMs.

To get to La Casa you can either use the public bus at $2-$4/person or ask the host to arrange a car to pick you up at the airport.

The place

As seen on the pictures above, La Casa is quite stylish and spacious, with cool Western modern touches giving a lovely retro/vintage feel to it. A cozy place for relaxation amid the hectic streets of Hanoi.

The best part of La Casa is outside of the apartment though. By waking up early, walking down the street, and taking a look around, you will find so many things that are so Hanoi here that you don’t want to miss. Vietnam’s most famous dish – Pho is right next to you, and not so faraway is ‘Bun Cha’, one of the top choices when it comes to lunch time in the capital.

Type of rooms and amenities

The decoration of La Casa makes it an ideal house for two people, in my opinion. However don’t hesitate to ask the host if you need an extra king bed, he will bring it right away without any extra fees. The floor mattress is super comfy and can be the coziest place on earth for you to relax from a long day walking around. The bathroom is okay with hot water, although the shower is not very powerful and might leave the floor wet overnight. The air con works nicely, so does the wifi. A basic kitchenette equipped with kitchen amenities for cooking as well. And there are aslo a washing machine and a dryer to save you from a heavy rainy day.

The downside is some people might be bothered of the sun during the morning since the curtains cannot really block the sunlight.

House Rules

As shown on the listing:

  • No smoking (You can smoke on the balcony though)
  • Check-in time is 2PM – 10PM
  • Check out by 12PM (noon)
  • Don’t be too lousy after 11pm. But it’s fine, you can just close the door
  • Not really a rule, but the host ask you to help him keep the apartment green by watering the plants twice a day

The Host

He is a nice and helpful host with many recommendations. Super accommodating and communication is a breeze. The host will respond to your queries quickly and up until your last day in his apartment. They also sometimes prepare traditional Vietnamese dishes for you to taste while staying here.

Other Information

Would definitely recommend trying Ngon restaurant and Pho Lam right opposite the Airbnb, best food gems of Hanoi. Also you can have an easy access to Namaste – one of the best Indian restaurants in town.
